Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light –  Helen Keller

A journey that is as long & challenging as preparing to studying abroad can be either a learning experience or a bitter memory. In a journey such as this, students could easily get lost or be mislead. It helps to have proper direction and guidance.

And who would do better as the right guide, than the person who went through the same emotions and crossed similar hurdles?

At Galvanize Test Prep, we recently organized an event – ‘Meet Alumni from top Universities in the U.S. & UK’ at SMS Hotels, Peelamedu, Coimbatore on the 20th of August, 2017.

The primary motive behind this initiative was to help study-abroad aspirants get answers to various questions about the journey ahead. Meeting Alumni who were once in the same position would certainly be the best source of inspiration to make them to roll up their sleeves and get into action without worries or concerns.

During this event, we had students from various colleges across Coimbatore like PSG Institute of Technology, Karunya University, Sri Krishna College of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Amrita University and more. Students came in with great involvement to attend the event. It was surprising to see the amount of time and efforts each student had put into building their profile which was reflected on each of their resumes.

The uniqueness of the event was, apart from the fact that the information shared by the Alumni will suffice their questions, every student brought in their resume and experts sat down and had a detailed review of their resume. This was very crucial in bridging the gap between a successful profile to where they currently stand.

Students had the opportunity to meet Alumni from world-famous university Stanford and get answers to questions about the admission criteria of various universities, improving application profiles, preparing for the GRE, job opportunities, and recruitment criteria after completing their Masters.
